May 22--A man was killed and another man was hurt after two motorcycles crashed Saturday afternoon near far northwest suburban Hampshire.
About 3:57 p.m., two motorcycles were a part of a larger group traveling northbound on Brier Hill Road south of Berner Road in Hampshire Township when a curve came up in the road, according to a news release from the Kane County Sheriff's Office.
Both motorcycles, a 2003 Harley-Davidson and a 2013 Harley-Davidson, left the road on the east side, failing to make the turn. Other motorcyclists in the group stopped to help them.
The two injured drivers were taken to Presence Saint Joseph Hospital in Elgin.
John Peneschi, 67, of Streamwood, was pronounce dead at the hospital.
An 89-year-old man from Bloomingdale suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash is still under investigation.
