BRIEF: 79-year-old man killed, another person injured in Jane Addams tollway crash

April 14--A 79-year-old Elgin man was killed and another man was injured when a van and a tow truck collided on the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway early Thursday, Illinois State Police said.

The Elgin man was driving the van, state police said. Details on the injured man were not available.

The van collided with the tow truck about 12:50 a.m. between Roselle and Barrington roads, according to police.

All westbound lanes of Interstate 90 near suburban Hoffman Estates were reopened about 6 a.m. after nearly five hours.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

This was the second fatal crash on the tollway in weeks. On March 25, a person was killed and six others were injured in a limousine crash near Elgin.
