Jan. 01--A woman was killed and a man was seriously injured in a crash on the Dan Ryan Expressway early Friday morning, police confirmed.
At about 1:20 a.m., their vehicle hit a wall on the local lanes of the inbound Dan Ryan near 63rd Street, said Sgt. Bridget Gilgenberg of the Illinois State Police.
The woman was killed. The man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition. Their exact ages were not immediately available.
Alcohol was a factor in the crash, Gilgenberg said.
