Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson and Samuel L Jackson recreate Lady Gaga's Oscars performance

Brie Larson and Samuel L Jackson recreated Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s performance of “Shallow” at this year’s Oscars ceremony.

The pair were promoting Captain Marvel on The Jonathan Ross Show where they performed their own rendition of the award-winning track from A Star is Born.

They struggled to get through the song without erupting into laughter as The Voice judges will.i.am and Jennifer Hudson watched on, entertained.

Lady Gaga and Cooper’s intimate performance of “Shallow” became the talk of the 2019 Academy Awards, spawning memes and theories surrounding the duo’s relationship that the former addressed during a chat show appearance earlier this week.

Larson makes her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in new superhero film Captain Marvel, which sees Jackson reprise his role of Nick Fury. The film – co-starring Jude Law, Gemma Chan and Annette Bening – is released on 8 March and will be the final Marvel film before Avengers: Endgame, released in April (which may or may not see this theory predicting a huge Hulk twist come true).

Larson plays Carol Danvers in what has been touted as a “self-contained” superhero film.

“It will lead very organically into what you saw at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, and it will lead very organically into what you will see in Avengers 4,” executive producer Jonathan Schwartz said.
