Bridgeton police incident: man arrested after 'disturbance' on Reid Street

Police rushed to Bridgeton late this afternoon after reports of a 'disturbance' on Reid Street.

Eyewitnesses earlier reported seeing a significant emergency service presence in Glasgow's east end, including Police Scotland, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and Scottish Ambulance Service.

No-one was injured in the incident, which was contained to a single property, and police have confirmed a 42-year-old man has been arrested.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed: "Police Scotland was made aware of a disturbance at a property on Reid Street in Glasgow shortly after 4.35pm on Thursday, 2 July.

"A 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

"Nobody was injured. The incident was contaned to a single property and there was no risk to the wider public."
