Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page spent time living in a Glasgow tower block before Netflix fame

Bridgerton is undoubtedly one of the shows of the moment right now, with millions of hearts being set aflutter by the hit Netflix drama.

But it may come as a surprise to some that one of the stars of the drama, Regé-Jean Page, has links to Glasgow.

More than a few people have fallen in love with the 31-year-old actor who plays the mysterious Duke of Hastings opposite Phoebe Dynevor's Daphne Bridgerton in the show.

And although he lived in stately home Clyvedon Castle on the series, it appears he had less lavish surroundings during his time in Scotland seven years ago, the Daily Record reports.

Back in 2014, Regé joined the cast of Waterloo Road in its 10th and final series, appearing on our screens from October 2014 to March 2015. The actor came to Glasgow several months earlier to start filming the series on May 26, 2014 - meaning he was here to enjoy the Commonwealth Games.

He wrote at the time on his Twitter account: "Fireworks super loud and pretty impressive all around us in Glasgow!"

On a less excitable note, he then added: "Also... every baby in this entire tower block just started crying. woo!"

Regé's Waterloo road character Guy Braxton, a teacher who joined Waterloo Road penniless, sleeping a couple of nights in the school itself.

He then spent a couple of weeks at George Windsor's house before he finally ended up lodging with Sonya Donnegan.

Funnily enough, it was also on Waterloo Road that Regé's co-star Phoebe Dynevor began her career, playing the role of schoolgirl Siobhan Mailey long before Regé's time on the show.
