Bridgerton series two filming update as Nicola Coughlan addresses rumours

Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan has addressed rumours that series two of the hit Netflix series has already begun.

The Derry Girls star who plays Penelope Featherington in the hugely successful show has confirmed that filming has not yet begun, despite reports.

Responding to a tweet which said filming for series two of Bridgerton was underway, Nicola replied: "Not yet! Wigs and dresses yet to be made but soon!"

Fellow stars of the show had set tongues wagging on Instagram by sharing throwback filming pictures from series one.

It was confirmed by Netflix in January that the series, inspired by bestselling novels by Julia Quinn would be renewed for a second season, much to viewers delight.

The show follows the lives of eight close-knit siblings of the Bridgerton family, who look for love and happiness in 19th century London high society.

Galway native Nicola also confirmed to fans last month that Derry Girls series three filming is taking place this year.

Nicola who plays Clare Devlin in the Channel 4 show, tweeted: "Can confirm Series 3 of Derry Girls is filming this year and I cannae bloody wait."
