Series one of period drama Bridgerton was a huge hit, no doubt about that. The series, set in the year 1813, had the nation completely hooked when it first dropped on Netflix in 2020.
The first season of Bridgerton, which followed Daphne Bridgerton on her quest for true love - as the eldest daughter of the Bridgerton family made her debut into the competitive marriage market - had everyone obsessed and made the show one of the biggest hits of Netflix.
However, as some sharp fans have noted, a couple of historical inaccuracies have slipped through in some of the scenes - slightly ruining an immersive experience but mostly just coming across quite amusing.
With the second season of Bridgerton streaming on Netflix now, here are modern mistakes that fans have caught on the first series of the show.

Here are all the mistakes that eagle-eyed fans spotted on the first season of Bridgerton:
Yellow lines on the road
In the first episode of Bridgerton, some fans spotted yellow lines painted on the road.
There would be nothing wrong with this in a modern day show. However, Bridgerton is set in the 1800s, and these yellow lines hadn't made it to the UK until the 1950s.
Parking sign
In another episode, a person spotted a parking sign on a lamp post.
Given that the only mode of transport in that period would have been horse-drawn carriages, a parking sign is more than a little out of place.
Modern doorbell
Spotting two mistakes at once, one fan shared: "Down pipes on the front of buildings which would not have been there and a modern day doorbell. Still a great one to watch though."
Primark sign
Another person spotted a blink-and-you'll-miss-it Primark poster in the background of one of the scenes.
This is one that many fans picked up on despite it being present in the scene for barely a second - surely a Primark in the 1800s definitely catches the eye.
Manhole cover
One more off-putting modern cameo was from a manhole cover under the feet of Penelope Featherington and Eloise Bridgerton, spotted while the pair took a walk through the town.
Window blinds
An inaccuracy that makes two appearances include the blinds on Lady Featherington's window in her estate, which once again appears at Anthony Bridgerton's mistress Sienna house as well.
Electric street lamp
One more mistake spotted by fans is an electric street lamp, which is an incredible glimpse by the show 65 years into the future.
As one fan put it: "Two episodes into #Bridgerton and I’ve so far spotted a single yellow line and a telecoms manhole cover. I didn’t realise the 19th Century Brits were such pioneers…"
It can be hard to un-see these errors once you've spotted them, but none of them really made the show any less enjoyable for anyone.
