Bridgerton's Regé-Jean Page 'lands leading role in new Dungeon and Dragons film'

Bridgerton actor Regé-Jean Page has reportedly bagged a role in the upcoming Dungeon and Dragons film.

The 31-year-old star has become somewhat of a heartthrob in recent months thanks to his role as the Duke of Hastings in the hit Netflix period drama.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Regé-Jean will star alongside Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez and Justice Smith in the new movie.

However, the film isn't set for release until summer 2022 so fans have a while to wait.

It comes after Regé-Jean carefully swerved a question about rumours that he could be cast as the new James Bond.

Fans are eager to see the Netflix favourite as 007 with No Time To Die expected to be Daniel Craig's final film as Bond.

During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show earlier this month, Regé-Jean attempted to avoid the topic all together.

During his interview, the handsome actor explained that Bridgerton was the only 'B' word he was permitted to talk about.

He told the host he had been given specific orders before coming on.

"Bridgerton is the only ‘B” word I am allowed to say – I am not going to talk about the other ‘B’ words!" he told Graham.

Previously, he said he was flattered to be named among Hollywood heavyweights such as Idris Elba and Tom Hardy.

He added: "I’m very glad to have the badge, I’m very glad to be in the company of such people whop have the badge, but it’s just a badge."

Before his role as Simon Basset in Bridgerton, Regé-Jean enjoyed roles in TV shows such as Casualty, Fresh Meat, and Waterloo Road.

He’s also starred in a few movies including Mortal Engines and Sylvie’s Love.

The Mirror has contacted a rep for Regé-Jean Page asking for comment.
