Bridgerton hunk Rege-Jean Page says he had to put in a lot of hard work behind the scenes to look good for the Netflix show's raunchy sex scenes.
The 31-year-old actor has revealed how he religiously followed an intense "Rocky-style" workout regime every morning, which involved gruelling PT sessions at 5am.
Rege-Jean's brutal training sessions would last for an hour and a half, but he doesn't regret it.
Speaking to press, he said: "There's a lot of physical activity involved, so I was on the full Rocky regime for it. I was up at 5am every day, going to the gym, meeting my trainer.
"He was horrible to me for an hour and a half every morning before the day started. I got my strength up just from surviving him.
"Luckily, the pretentious actor in me could justify that, because I always start building a character from what their physical language is. But you are also serving the audience in a genre that is about fantasy and glamour."
It comes after Rege-Jean's on-screen partner Phoebe Dynevor, who plays Daphne Bridgerton, says she skipped past the explicit sex scenes in the period drama when watching it back with mum Sally.
The 25-year-old actress said that she sat down with her mum, who plays Sally Webster on Coronation Street, to watch her new Netflix show.
It became a bit of a struggle for the mum and daughter to watch the raunchy romps together, so Phoebe decided that it would be best to fast forward those parts of the hit show.
Speaking to BBC Radio 2, Phoebe said: "I had to sit there and fast forward on high alert with the remote control. We managed it just about."
Bridgerton has been watched by more than 70 million households across the globe and it has propelled Phoebe to superstardom.
