Bridgerton prequel cast members and what viewers can expect

The second series of Bridgerton has recently dropped on Netflix, you can read all about the new series here, and now more cast members have been announced for the prequel. The un-named prequel will follow a younger Queen Charlotte, a current star of the Bridgerton series, and her rise as Queen.

Queen Charlotte is currently played by Golda Rosheuvel, as she presides over the season and desperately tries to find out who Lady Whistledown is. India Amarteifio, who has previously been in Sex Education, Line of Duty, and Doctor Who, will play the younger Queen Charlotte.

The prequel will show a young Queen Charlotte arriving in England already betrothed to a young King George of England. Queen Charlotte quickly realises she is not what the English royals are expecting.

She learns to navigate the palace and the tricky English royalty to start becoming the Queen that fans will recognise from Bridgerton. Other current Bridgerton cast members, including Adjoa Andoh who plays Lady Agatha Danbury, and Ruth Gemmell who plays Lady Violet Bridgeton, will be in the prequel.

Another new cast member is Arsema Thomas who will play a young Lady Danbury and Games of Throne star Michelle Fairley will play King George's mother, Princess Augusta. The series will also include the stories of a young Lady Danbury and Lady Bridgerton. The first table read for the new series has taken place.

An air date or title has not yet been released for the prequel but the show will be aired on Netflix, where you can currently stream series one and two of Bridgerton.
