'Bridgerton-esque' home in Clifton wouldn't look out of place on Netflix series

People gripped by period drama Bridgerton are being inspired to find their own piece of Regency glamour.

Research from Rightmove has revealed that this grand house in Clifton was one of its most viewed properties over the festive period.

Bridgerton, the Netflix series produced by Shondaland which was partly shot in Bath, was released on Christmas Day.

Since then fans haven't been able to get enough of the Daphne Bridgerton and Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings, love story.

We swooned all over the Bridgerton brothers and enjoyed the suspense of discovering just who is Lady Whistledown.

It appears watching the glamour of that time has inspired many a house hunter as Rightmove found four of the most viewed homes - including Norland House in Canynge Road - had period elements, and would not look out of place on a show like Bridgerton.

The Grade II* listed family home is believed to have been built by Charles Dyer circa 1830 and remodelled in circa 1878. Over the last five or so years, the present owners have added their touch, too, bringing to life and incorporating into the house the previously disused and detached Coach House.

The stunning property boasts 8,888sq ft of internal accommodation arranged over four floors and has the potential for seven bedrooms with four bathrooms.

It also has a cinema, room, gym, games room and, perhaps most importantly, a wine cellar.

Other features include a self contained one bedroom annexe, fully enclosed generous gardens and grounds, gated off street parking for numerous vehicles and a flag stone courtyard.

The price of the property is on application through agents Rupert Oliver Property Agents, of Clifton.

Rightmove’s Director of Property Data Tim Bannister said: It’s always interesting to see which homes are piquing the nation’s interest, and there definitely appears to be a theme with this crop of properties.

“All four of the most viewed properties are grand stately homes that wouldn’t look out of place on the set of hit show Bridgerton.”

The other most viewed homes were Chanters House in Ottery St Mary in Devon, Haddon House in Staffordshire and The Grange in Milton Ernest, Bedfordshire.
