Bridge Street in Tradeston shut down by police amid ongoing incident

Bridge Street in Tradeston, near Glasgow city centre, has been shut down by police due to an ongoing incident.

 Glasgow City Council's Traffic Control and Management team (TRAFFCOM) have confirmed to Glasgow Live the street has been closed between the junctions of Kingston Street and Oxford Street and Nelson Street and Norfolk Street, near the River Clyde.

No further detail has been given at this time.

A TRAFFCOM statement reads: "Due to a Police incident, Bridge Street is closed between Kingston Street/Oxford Street and Nelson Street/Norfolk Street.

"Diversions are in place along Oxford Street, South Portland Street and Norfolk Street."

Glasgow Live have contacted Police Scotland for comment.

UPDATE: TRAFFCOM have advised the area cordoned off by police has been extended, confirming: "Bridge Street closure has been extended from Glasgow Bridge junction with Clyde Street/Broomielaw south to Nelson Street/Norfolk Street.

"Kingston Street closed between Commerce Street and Bridge Street."
