Bridge Street crash: two rushed to hospital after van and car collide in Laurieston

Two people have been rushed to hospital following an early morning crash on Bridge Street.

Emergency services rushed to the Laurieston area of Glasgow shortly after 6.30am following reports of a crash between a van and a car at the junction of Norfolk Street.

The roads were shut down by police before being reopened over an hour later.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed: "We received a report of a crash on Bridge Street at the junction with Norfolk Street in Glasgow involving two vehicles - a car and a van - around 6.35am on Thursday, 10 December.

"Emergency services, including police and the ambulance service, attended and two people have been taken to hospital.

"The road reopened around 7.50am."
