A tragic Scots cop who died after falling from a bridge had recently become engaged to his partner.
is the second heartbreaking blow to his fiancée Laura McRonald whose previous partner died suddenly in 2014 just weeks after welcoming their first child.
Jamie was pulled from the water near the Clackmannanshire Bridge on Sunday night but nothing could be done to save the 28-year-old officer, who was based at Govan.
He is the fifth police officer to die suddenly in recent months.
Laura, 25, was left devastated in June 2014 when her boyfriend, Andrew Gallacher, died shortly after he went missing from his home in Kilwinning, Ayrshire, leaving behind their four-month-old daughter.
A source said: “Jamie and Laura were due to get married this year.
"They got engaged in September last year and had a party. It’s a terrible tragedy for her as she lost her first partner in 2014 and after all the heartache she suffered it seemed she had found happiness again with Jamie.
"This is absolutely devastating for her and her little girl to lose another loved one in tragic circumstances.”

Police chiefs said the force had been left “deeply saddened” by the loss of another colleague.
There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding Jamie’s tragic death.
Emergency services were called to the scene after reports of “concern for a person” and the bridge was closed to traffic in both directions just before 9.30pm on Sunday.
Police, fire crews, a coastguard helicopter and search teams were drafted in as a full-scale search got under way, but nothing could be done to save Jamie.
A police spokesman said: “The body of a 28-year-old man was recovered from the River Forth a short time later following a search.
“The death is currently being treated as unexplained, although there are no apparent suspicious circumstances.

“A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
Tributes have been paid to Jamie by devastated friends and colleagues who changed their social media profile pictures to images of a blue candle on Monday in tribute to the officer.
Andrew, an apprentice plumber, lived with Laura and their young daughter at his parents’ house. The young couple had just received keys to their own home when he tragically died in 2014.
A missing person appeal was made by Andrew’s family after he went missing, but he was discovered dead days later.
Jamie’s death comes after four other Police Scotland colleagues died suddenly in the space of just three months.
PC Natalie Faulds, 25, was taken to hospital in Wishaw, Lanarkshire, earlier this month, where she later passed away.
The officer was based at Baird Street police station in Glasgow and was described, in a tribute released by the Police Federation, as a “much loved” member of the force.
Natalie's funeral was held on Monday with more than 200 fellow officers attending a service at Cathcart Old Parish Church in Glasgow to pay their respects to their colleague.

In December, detective constable Gordon Gibson, 42, took his own life at Greenock Police Station
Colleagues rushed to the married dad-of-two aid but he couldn’t be saved.
In October last year, tragic Martin Mooney, who was based in Stirling, was struck by a train.
It emerged Martin, 40, had been on desk duties following an investigation after banter between uniformed officers and traffic police “went too far”.
Another experienced officer who had been based in the west of Scotland also died suddenly in December last year.
None of the deaths are believed to be suspicious.
