A bride has been left heartbroken after her wedding dress belonging to her late mum was ruined by a 'clumsy' bridesmaid.
The 27-year-old, who posted her story anonymously online, stated she was trying to be extra careful with her wedding dress as the thought of damaging her mum's dress was too much to bare.
"I promise I'm not usually this crazy about cleanliness, but this was my mom's dress, and the thought of it being damaged broke my heart," said the bride in a Reddit post.
There were particular precautions in place, such as only wearing the dress for the ceremony, staying indoors while wearing it and no eating or drinking while in it, except water.

According to the bride's story, all of the bridesmaids were aware of the sentimental importance of the dress and knew about all the particular precautions.
On the day, the dress was hanging in the room above where the ceremony would be held as the bride went to check on something downstairs for her big day.
While she went to check on something downstairs, the bridesmaids sat in the room where the dress was, and the rest of the story had been told to her by the other bridesmaids.
"They opened a bottle of Pinot Noir (my favorite) as a celebration. They poured themselves glasses and began to walk around checking out the room," she stated.
"One of my bridesmaids, 'Anna,' (27 F) wanted to get a closer look at my dress. She got really close to it, and she started touching the lace. Somehow, her hand holding the wine glass slipped, and wine spilled all over the bottom of the dress."
When the bride returned back to the room she saw what had happened and began sobbing immediately.
The Maid of Honour called professional cleaners urgently to see if there was any way they could get the dress in quickly before the ceremony started, but all of these calls were unsuccessful.
"They told us ways to save the dress until we could get it into them, so my Maid of Honour started doing that," she continued.
It was at this point the bride became furious with Anna and started to confront her about why she was holding red wine near her wedding dress.
"She dismissed it and said it wasn’t such a big deal because I was planning to wear the dress, so it could have gotten damaged that way too," said the bride in her post.
On hearing this reply, the bride called her thoughtless and careless and said she could take no more part in the event and asked her to leave.
Anna left the venue and the two have not spoken since - with the other bridesmaids joking she was bring a 'bridezilla'.
"I got married in the dress I had planned to wear for the reception, and I was heartbroken not to be wearing my mom's dress,2 she added.
"After the wedding, my bridesmaids joked that I was a bridezilla for kicking 'Anna' out after she made a 'honest mistake'."
