A woman who married her disabled partner has hit back at trolls accusing her of faking her wedding.
Hannah Aylward shared pictures of the big day as she tied the knot with writer Shane Burcaw in their back garden in Minneapolis, US earlier this month.
An Instagram post to her 262,000 followers showed the happy couple during the ceremony.
She wrote: “On Friday, September 4th, I married the love of my life. It wasn’t the big gathering we had always planned on having, but it was perfect.
“Shane and I can’t wait to celebrate with our families in person when it’s safe, but for now, we’re husband and wife. And that’s the most important part.
“I’m incredibly lucky to now be married to the greatest guy I know.”
But Hannah said she was faced with people accusing her of marrying Shane, who has spinal muscular atrophy, for his money, writes the Mirror.
Cruel trolls also said the wedding was “some kind of joke” and added that the images must have been “photoshopped”.
One comment said: “I'm saying this without any kind of apologies. I'm pretty sure that woman married him because of his money and not for love.”
Another said: "Some of us women will do anything and everything for money, even if it means putting up a front pretending just to get what they want. No not true love."
In response to the cruel comments Hannah said: "No matter what you do, some people will just never come around.
"Worrying about these people’s opinions is a waste of time, and as time has gone on, it’s become so much easier to genuinely have no internal reaction to comments like these.
"A few years ago, reading words like these was painful. For a while, I held onto the idea that once Shane and I were married, all the people doubting our relationship would realize it was real.
"Now, of course, I’m not that naive. Although it’s taken time, I’m able to completely dismiss people like this.
"Shane and I continue to make content and share our story with the hopes of showing as many people as we can that disabled people are worthy partners."
Hannah's comments prompted a huge response from supporters congratulating them on their marriage.
One follower said: "You two are the definition of love and if these people don’t see that than they don’t know what love is.”
Another wrote: "I don’t know what possesses people to spew such hate. Congratulations on getting married, I’m so happy for you both.”
Last year Shane wrote an article for Today in which he said many people often think Hannah is his carer as opposed to his fiancée.
He wrote: "Hannah and I were once checking out at a liquor store when the cashier said to Hannah: ‘Does this big guy want a lollipop?’
