Brides often love revealing their wedding gown to family and friends - fashionistas or not, it is something most put a lot of thought into ahead of their big day. But one bride's big reveal did not go to plan when her friends could not hide their hatred of her beloved gown. To make matters worse, she had been excitedly filming their reactions as she showed off her dress, meaning she now has the crushing blow on record forever.
And when she shared the moment online, people sided with her pals, suggesting she'd made the wrong choice. Luckily, not everyone felt the same way, though, with lots of viewers sharing praise for the gown, which the bride went on to wear for her big day.
What's more, she was able to see the funny side of the situation, laughing about her friends' brutally honest reactions, along with thousands of delighted viewers.
People said they were left crying tears of laughter after @yungyinkv shared a recording of the big reveal to TikTok. The clip appears to show a group of friends gathered around a bridal shop, and one guest starts filming in anticipation.
With a dramatic flair, a large curtain is then pulled back to reveal a beautiful bride-to-be. But her elegant gown does not receive the reaction she likely expected, and she drops the camera she was directing at her entourage.
"Oh," her friends groan, unable to hide their true feelings, and it is clear the bride notices their disappointment. "That time all my friends hated my wedding dress," reads the onscreen text.
Her caption added: " A weaker b**** would have folded after that reaction! Lol, but I loved her."
The shocking video has since racked up over 800,000 likes and thousands of comments from amused viewers. One reply read: "When I tell you I am in tears LMFAOOOOOOO."
"HOLLERINGGG," said a second. And a different comment added: "The fact that you had your camera ready for a completely different reaction is sending me."
Many also weighed in with their opinion on the dress. One person thought: "They real friends lol cos that isn’t the dress."
And someone else agreed: "Yeah idk why people in the comments try and act like people pleaser things have to be said."
But another said: "The dress is literally gorgeous what the hell."
A fan of the dress asked: "What’s wrong with it though? You look beautiful." And someone replied: "Not gonna lie, this dress is very editorial. I get the vision!"
Luckily, it sounds like the bride took all of the responses on the chin. When a commenter said: "They wanted to love it for you but they just couldn’t," she replied: "That’s what sent me watching it back," before adding a laughing emoji.
She also shared that she was not swayed and wore her beloved dress on her big day. In a follow-up video, the newlywed showed off her wedding photos, and it is safe to say she looked gorgeous.
Replying to a commenter who asked how she responded, the beautiful bride said: "I bought my dress."
She also went on to explain she took the video back in 2019, when dress shopping - before she ordered the needed alterations - and her friends had preferred another dress. But she chose the dress she loved, much to the adoration of viewers.
"I'm so glad u bought the dress, to me you look amazing," read one reply. Another said: "It’s so classy . Perfect decision."
And someone else praised the bride, adding: "That’s right, a confident SURE woman that knows what she wants. Love it!"
