Many brides want their big day to run smoothly and for everything to be perfect.
But how much control should they actually have over those attending? Where do they need to draw the line?
One bride-to-be has sparked debate on social media after revealing that she wasn't going to let her fiancé's niece wear a superhero-inspired dress on her big day.
The youngster and her in-laws picked out a red and blue shiny dress made to look like Captain Marvel's iconic outfit and they were pretty pleased with their choice.
Until the bride told them to think again.

In a post on Facebook she shared a snap of the girl's dress and wrote: "Was at the soon to be in-laws today and they chose this dress for my fiancé's niece.
"I told them to keep shopping. Do people really not understand what to wear for weddings."
This was then shared on a wedding shaming Facebook group, where people had mixed opinions.

Some agreed with the bride and thought the child should be made to wear something more formal to suit the occasion.
One person replied: "If it's a formal wedding then this is not appropriate wedding attire #sorrynotsorry."
Another commented: "Point blank. Ages 0-100 you dress appropriately for the event FFS people."
However others thought it wasn't a big deal what the girl wore.

Someone else replied: "Let kids wear what they want Jesus f***ing Christ. It's just clothes.'
A second said: "Oh my, that dress is so cute. If she's not in the wedding, what do you care?"
"Who cares what a CHILD wears," added a third. "A f***ing kid isn't gonna upstage you and at least she isn't wearing jeans? Damn."
One mum also suggested her parents had probably had a hard time trying to shop for the youngster.
"Their decision to let their kid wear this probably has nothing to do with it being acceptable wedding attire.
"Just be honest with the world and say 'I've got three kids under five and I'm tired. I don't have the energy to argue with a toddler about this dress.'
"Gotta pick your battles, and I'm taking the fact that it's not a plastic Incredible Hulk mask and juice-stained pyjamas as a win."
