Bride to be says she will be "cancelling the wedding" if fiance goes to strip club on stag

A bride to be has sparked a debate online after she said she would “be cancelling the wedding” if her fiancé went to a strip club on his stag night.

The woman said she could not understand why a man would want to spend his 'last night of freedom' at a strip club.

She said: “if my fiancé goes to the strip club for his bachelor party to enjoy “his last night of freedom” I will simply support him by giving him all the nights of freedom bc I will be cancelling the wedding”.

She added: “and to be clear, I do not have a negative view on dancers/strippers/sex workers they are doing their jobs and I have nothing but respect for them, I just do not see why someone I’m committed to would need to celebrate their last night before marriage at a strip club”.

The tweet has gathered over 72k likes, and over 9,000 retweets as people both agreed and disagreed with the woman's views.

One user said: "The last night of freedom idea feels like a major insult to your partner?

“This is someone you’re supposed to want to spend the rest of your life with, viewing it as a loss of freedom might be a sign not to get married yet or with that specific person.”

Others said they believe some men use their bachelor party as a free pass to cheat on their partner before they tie the knot.

One said: “The amount of men I know who openly admit that they cheated on their partner the night before their wedding in the name of “freedom” is astounding.

“Like they think it’s not cheating if they’re not married? It’s just insane.”

However, not all brides felt the same about their fiancé having a stripper at their stag.

One woman said: “Maybe I’m just not insecure, but I will PLAN my mans bachelor party and make sure the hottest strippers show”.

Another said: “I don’t think the problem is going to the strip club. I guess it’s a fun place to be, but it’s the whole rhetoric of “the last night of freedom” that bothers me.

“If you see marriage as a prison then why would you even get married?

“I’ve no problem if you go to a strip club even after we get married, as long as I can go to a strip club too.

“Marriage is not the end of your freedom, but if you want to go to clubs with the purpose of getting laid and you think that after marriage that would not be possible, then bye. Marriage is respect”.
