Bride tells guests to wear their old wedding dresses

A bride in Los Angeles, California has debunked the myth that you can only wear a wedding dress once by inviting her female guests to rewear their old wedding dresses on her big day.

Actor Audrey Moore, who has starred in TV shows such as Godless and Better Call Saul, decided to add the unconventional twist to her celebrations because she thought it was a shame that most brides don’t wear their gowns a second time.

Speaking to Buzzfeed, Moore explained that she’d been to each of her guests’ weddings and loved seeing her friends in their dresses on each occasion.

“I wanted them to have the opportunity to wear their really magical, beautiful dress a second time,” she told the website.

After proposing the idea to her guests, Moore added they were all more than happy to oblige, with some wearing their own old gowns while others who were unmarried borrowed dresses from friends and family members.

“It was like watching a group of princesses come to life,” she recalls, “we had such a good time.”

Moore got married on 30 December to writer Jesse Lumen, who posted photographs of the wedding on Reddit, prompting a flurry of positive responses from people praising the couple for their creativity.

“These are the best wedding pictures I’ve ever seen! Congrats,” commented one person.

“I want to cry after reading this,” added another.

“I got coerced into throwing a wedding that I really didn’t feel displayed my husband’s and my personalities at all. You guys did it to the nines and stayed true to yourselves. I am so proud of you for sticking with it! Sounds like the best day ever, which it should be.”
