Bride's theatrical wedding entrance divides opinions as she ditches tradition

It's traditional for the bride to walk down the aisle with their father on their wedding day, but one bride's unique entrance with her mum has divided opinions after it went viral on social media.

A video of the wedding was shared on Reddit's "Made Me Smile" thread, with a caption that reads: "A beautiful entrance for the bride."

Before making her grand entrance, a partition was placed at the end of the aisle.

Behind it, actors created a skit about the bride's life, which shows the close bond she shares with her mum.

In the first scene, a silhouette of a pregnant woman could be seen walking around holding her stomach.

In another, the mum was shown holding her baby. Then, she was stood doing her daughter's hair before she waved goodbye to her as she headed off to school.

All of these touching moments lead to the arrival of the bride, who appears behind the screen with her mum, hugging each other and holding hands.

When the partition is lifted, the two women make their way down the aisle together.

Reddit users were quick to share their thoughts on the entrance, with many applauding the touching moment.

One person said: "I’ve photographed over 300 weddings and if I would have born witness to that I would have lost my composure completely. That’s just so clever."

"Wish this was the trend at the time of the last wedding I was in but instead I had to dance down the aisle to an Usher song like a jack**s," wrote another.

A third commented: "Alright who started cutting onions?!"

But others weren't so sure, as they felt it was a little over-the-top.

"It's sweet for something like mothers day or a graduation party but I can't envision this on my wedding day at all," said one user.

A second put: "It makes it feel like the entire point of her life was to …get married."

While a third bluntly said: "I really hate this. Like, a lot.
