Bride's engagement ring shamed on Facebook as it is compared to pair of tweezers

A bride-to-be's unusual engagement ring has received widespread backlash on social media, with users comparing it to a "pair of tweezers" and a "taser gun".

Close up photos of the ring were shared in Facebook group "That's It, I'm Ring Shaming", with the caption "A ring only 'slightly acceptable' from one angle'".

The ring features an emerald green jewel centrepiece with two green jewels on the sides, embellished in a ring of diamonds with accompanying blue stones along its band.

The unusual 'V' angle design has garnered mixed reactions from users, and many were quick to lash out at the piece.

Users were quick to slam the ring's angled layout, with one saying: "Oh no. Its colors don’t even match!"

Another added: "Ew I would only accept this if my neck my neck was crooked."

One said: "Which angle? It's hideous all around."

Meanwhile, another said: "Is that one angle with your eyes closed?"

Users commented tweezer emojis, and one compared the ring to a "portal gun".

They said: "Looks like the portal gun from rick and morty ready to beam me into a different dimension."

One person said: "It's a jewel encrusted speculum", and another wrote: "Sweet baby Jesus, Mary, Joseph AND the little donkey!"

Ring shaming has taken over several Facebook groups as users collectively slam pictures of unusual engagement rings.

Earlier in June, one bride-to-be posted her lavish engagement ring online - but social media users were quick to lash out at her nails.

Pictures show the woman's grown out pink and gold tipped nails, which came under scrutiny after the post was shared across several Facebook shaming groups.
