Bride red-faced after showing off wedding sign - as others point out rude flaw

When it comes to planning a wedding, of course, you want everything to feel perfect, right down to the finest detail.

So, you can understand why one bride would want to show off her efforts after investing in a handwritten bespoke sign for her and her husband's special day.

However, all that excitement may have just come crashing down, after a number of naughty-minded internet users spotted a rather unfortunate error.

The sign is written in beautiful curled calligraphy, which unfortunately has made some of the words appear as though they say something entirely different.

One Reddit user decided to share a photo of the sign on Reddit's Wedding Shaming forum, alongside the caption: "Be careful of your signage font... Mr Penis."

Yep, the unlucky couple, who on closer inspection appear to be called Ale and Denis, got more than they bargained for when the curly element of the letter D, unfortunately, appeared to look more like a P.

The sign actually reads: "Bienvenidos a la boda de Ale & Denis," which translated into English means, "Welcome to the wedding of Ale & Denis," but that didn't stop people sniggering over the unfortunate mishap.

"A few centimetres can make all the difference. Let's hope the couple was able to laugh about it," one Reddit user joked, while another added: "Ale and Penis sounds like an extremely sketchy pub."

"I went to school with a Denis and our other friend would sneakily extend a line on the D down so it said penis before he turned in papers. He did it all the time lol," a third Reddit user reminisced.

Fortunately, others pointed out that native Spanish speakers wouldn't necessarily make the rude connection and we certainly hope that wasn't the case on the happy couple's big day.
