A bride was left "gutted" after her dream Disney wedding shoes were stolen just weeks before she was due to tie the knot.
Emma Turner, 28, and her fiancée Jamie Elkaleh, 26, have planned a Disney-themed wedding for August 25, complete with Toy Story's Mr and Mrs Potato Head on top of their cake.
Bride-to-be Emma had planned everything down to the last detail - including a pair of Toy Story bridal shoes with Jamie's name on them.
But the couple were left on the verge of tears when the shoes and their bridesmaid dresses were stolen from their car last night.
The dresses had been taken for a fitting at one of their bridesmaids' houses on Sunday night - and the couple kept them locked up in the boot to drop off at Emma's mum's on Monday morning.
Their car was broken into near Doric Road, close to where the couple live in the Stoneycroft area of the city.
Speaking to the ECHO, rugby coach Jamie said: "Absolutely gutted. One of my partner's friends is pregnant so we took the bridesmaid dresses to her house last night to see if she needed any alterations.
"We were going to drop them to my partner's mum's house today because we've got two small dogs and we didn't want them getting near the dresses.
"We went to the car this morning and it had been broken into. Everything was in the boot but they also got into the glove box and stole our sat nav.
"They were hidden in the boot so it's not like we left them on display."
Jamie said that although the dresses will be worthless to whoever stole them, they mean the world to his fiancée Emma, who works in financial services.
He estimates the total value of everything stolen from the car came to around £500 - and while this might not seem like a lot to some people, it's a huge expense in the final weeks of planning a wedding.
Jamie, who proposed to Emma on top of a lighthouse in Withernsea, Yorkshire, said: "I just can't believe it's happened to us because we're due to get married on August 25 and we're heartbroken. It's the financial side because we have four bridesmaids, but it was only the two adult ones that were taken. We tried to make sure they were perfect.
"[Emma] was close to tears."
He added: "Her wedding shoes were in the boot and they were personalised. It's a Disney-themed wedding and she was going to have "Elky" on her shoes - it's my nickname because no one can pronounce my surname because it's Egyptian.
"The shoes were going to be Toy Story themed - we love Mr and Mrs Potato Head and we were going to have them on top of the cake."
The couple did report the theft to Merseyside Police, but were told that in the absence of any CCTV they were unable to send officers to respond.
