A bride got revenge on her mother-in-law after she wore the same wedding dress as her to her special day. The woman says several members of her partner's family showed up to wedding in replica dresses, reports the Mirror.
The bride took to social media to share her shocking experience on the big day as her in-laws showed up in identical white dresses. Posting on Reddit, she says her mother-in-law and three sisters-in-law consider her to be the "devil incarnate" because she does not share their religion.
The bride said: "My mother-in-law hated me from the moment we met - think evangelical Catholic meets goth atheist. I moved in with her son and had a baby without getting married and she truly believed I was the devil incarnate sent to draw her baby boy into the depths of hell.
"I never cared about getting married. I felt weddings were a waste of money. I'd rather have a boat or a new motorbike, but it was important to my husband, so I agreed, on the condition that it was not a church wedding."
The bride says the meddling in-laws were trying to control every aspect of the wedding. She says that they wouldn't leave her alone until she agreed to go dress shopping with them.
The woman added: "I hated the idea of a wedding dress. I hate pale colours. I hate dressing up. I hate dresses, but I'd promised my own mum and brother that we could do this together.

"So, my mum, mother-in-law, sisters-in-law, brother and his wife all traipsed along with me to marvel at the sight of me in a dress. The in-laws behaved and I found a dress that I didn't hate as much as the others. I paid for it and we left."
The bride says she was stunned when the bridal shop phoned her up to inform her of her in-laws' intentions to upstage her on the big day. She said: "I got a call from the shop - my mother-in-law and sisters-in-law had ordered themselves the exact same dress as me."
The woman told her partner, who did not believe his family members would do such a thing. The bride decided to not let the in-laws upstage her and returned back to the shop to order a different dress. She also devised a plan to get revenge on the scheming mother-in-law.
The woman said: "I told my husband and he didn't really believe it. I laughed about it for a bit, went back to the shop and ordered a new dress. This one was dark purple with black trim. Then I had the idea - I don't have a lot of female friends but all my male friends have wives who had wedding dresses.
"Sometimes they say they feel sad that they spent all that money on a dress that they'll never wear again. I talked to my husband and he agreed, so the invitations went out and every person who had ever worn a wedding dress was invited to wear it to our wedding.
"My mother-in-law and the sisters-in-law got different invitations that specifically asked that they not wear white. Dress code was stated as 'whatever you're comfortable in'."
The woman explained that on the wedding day that the in-laws walked into the ceremony room and were met with a sea of white dresses. She said: "All four of them turned up in their beautiful white dresses with their beautiful make up and hair - they didn't stand out. They looked exactly like everyone else, except for my mum and brother's wife, who wore purple like me. They weren't going to ruin my day by upstaging me.
"My husband, who up to that point really didn't think they would do something so vile, turned to stone that day. They had finally shown the depths that they would sink to and the last of the fog was swept away."

The bride says the mother-in-law tried to chat to her after the ceremony but her husband shut his mother down. She said: "I came face to face with my mother-in-law at the door. She was incandescent with rage. She went to speak, but my husband stepped forward. and he shushed her right in front of everyone! It was glorious."
The woman says she didn't hear from the mother-in-law for nearly a month after the wedding as she needed to "calm down" about the situation.
She says her mother-in-law finally broke the ice because she wanted to visit with her grandchildren. The woman said:"I let it go because my husband and I had won. But every now and then I wear the purple dress when I know she'll be at an event because I'm petty like that."
The wild story grabbed the attention of people across social media, who were quick to share their thoughts. Many were big fans of the woman's revenge scheme against the mother-in-law's devious plans.
One person said: "You didn't just get your revenge, you also made all those women's day by letting them wear their wedding dresses again. Love it!" Another user added: "I'm a big fat man, and I would have worn a wedding dress if I knew the reason."
Others gave further suggestions to torment the mother-in-law in the future and remind of her of the wedding day. One person said: "It's tragic that 'White Wedding' wasn't on your playlist. Maybe use it as the soundtrack for a photo montage during an anniversary celebration?"
