Bride faces scorn for plans to walk down aisle with childhood toy she feels 'empty' without

You'd probably be surprised by the amount of adults who still take a treasured cuddly toy to bed with them.

After all, our childhoods plushies have been with us through thick and thin. But is there a point where we should cut the chord and learn to function without them?

According to a lot of opinionated people on the internet (where else?), the answer is a resounding 'yes', with the debate recently ignited on a wedding Facebook group.

A woman shared a post from a bride-to-be who admitted she wants her cuddly bear to accompany her down the aisle as she gets married , instead of the more traditional floral bouquet.

She asked: "Is anyone walking down the aisle with their childhood cuddly toy? I have Squealer had since I was seven. I still sleep with her because if not my arms feel so empty."

To each their own, right?

After all, Love Islander Molly Mae has practically made star out of her stuffed elephant 'Ellie-Belly' stuffed toy.

Sadly not everyone was quite so accepting of this woman's plans.

"By five, my father was threatening to burn it so I didn't let it out of my sight and took it everywhere. Now, I still sleep with it, but it can stay at home and wait until after the wedding."

"It's cute, but not to walk down the aisle with," someone else fed back.

Some of the replies were a little harsher.

"This is a seriously stupid idea," wrote one snarky woman. "You need to grow the f*** up."

While another unhelpful soul added: "Why don't you cut off the ears and turn it into your garter?"

To the bride-to-be, we say "you do you!"

One response read: "Okay, so when I was two I was going to MARRY my favourite blanket. By the time I was four, I decided instead I'd wear it as a veil.
