Bride dumped at wedding after mother-of-groom said she was too 'short and ugly' to marry her son

A bride was dumped at the alter after the mother-of-the-groom took a first glimpse at her and thought she was too "short and ugly".

According to Yabaleft, the groom's mum had only seen pictures of the bride-to-be ahead of the big day, so only caught a glimpse of her in real life for the first time at the wedding ceremony.

It's reported the woman was disappointed when she saw her for the first time on what was meant to be the best day of the couple's lives, and alleged her daughter-in-law to be was too short and unattractive to wed her son.

She then directed her son to stop the ceremony at once, as she couldn't let him tie the knot with the Tunisian lady referred to as Lamia Al-Labawi.

Before the drama erupted the bride was photographed next to the groom who was seen to wipe his face with a handkerchief.

Since the heartbreak unfolded Lamia posted on social media to tell people about what went down on her big day.

She told people she is an orphan and spent a fortune on the couple's day, and then it was taken away from her by her ex mother-in-law.

The devastated bride was said to be left embarrassed, and couldn't look at people following the rejection.

She also said she could hear people making sneaky remarks when the drama unfolded.
