Bride cruelly dubbed 'slug monster' after unusual wedding dress choice

A bride has been dubbed a "slug monster" by cruel internet trolls after she opted for this unconventional choice of wedding dress .

Social media users likened the gown to a sleeping bag or a duvet cover after a picture of it was uploaded to the Facebook group That's It, I'm Wedding Shaming.

The image shows the top half of the frock which consists of a white lace bodice and halterneck.

But the bottom half is far more distinctive, coming in an unconventional purple colour and featuring tiered ruffles and a drop waist.

The dress has been widely mocked on social media, with some stating that the design was somewhat reminiscent of a 80's guest room curtain set.

Alongside the image, the poster added the caption: "Saw someone trying to sell this monstrosity. She looks like some kind of half slug monster to me. It's just... So wrong."

One user followed up: "This literally looks like a sleeping bag. Wedding at 5, sleepover at 7. Outfit for both occasions?"

Another said: "WHY couldn't the white have just kept going? That s*** looks like my ugly a** 80s guest room curtains."

While another simply said: "It looks like a blanket."
