Bride and caterer arrested after multiple guests hospitalised mysteriously at wedding

A bride and her caterer have been arrested after reportedly lacing the food featured on her wedding menu with drugs as several guests fell ill.

According to Fox News, the Florida bride, Danya Glenny, and her caterer, Joycelyn Bryant, are both facing charges of tampering, culpable negligence, and delivery of marijuana.

Bryant founded Joycelyn’s Southern Kitchen back in 2013, while she was pursuing a degree in Molecular Biology & Microbiology, and describes herself as a “holistic chef.

The incident occurred on the big day itself, which was attended by around 30 or 40 guests.

During the celebrations, police were called to the Springs Clubhouse in Longwood in Florida, by a man in attendance.

According to local reports, he said he needed an ambulance because he was “feeling weird” and said he felt like he had “drugs inside him.”

According to WESH News, several other people attending the celebrations had to be taken to the hospital to be treated after they experienced sickness and feelings of being “high/stoned.”

As part of an investigation into the mysterious illnesses, authorities collected multiple items served after the ceremony.

These included chocolate-covered strawberries, bread, cookies, brownies, pudding shots, and lasagne.

A police report published a number of days later showed that the lasagne and a piece of bread tested positive for THC - the main psychoactive compound in cannabis.

On Monday night, 42-year-old Glenny, and 31-year-old Bryant turned themselves in to the police and are now facing charges.
