Brid Stack injury update: 11-time All-Ireland winner expected to make full recovery

Brid Stack is expected to make a full recovery after she was hospitalised in Australia.

The 11-time All-Ireland winner was taken to hospital on Sunday after suffering an injury in a practice match for the Greater Western Sydney Giants.

The former Cork star suffered the injury from a collision in the fourth quarter of the game.

Her club said in a tweet: "Unfortunately Irish recruit Brid Stack has been taken to hospital following spinal precaution protocols after a collision in a tackle late in the fourth quarter.

"She’s in the best possible care and we will provide a full update when we have further information."

But Cork LGFA have given a positive update on Stack this afternoon.

They tweeted: "Positive news coming from Australia where @BridStackie will make a full recovery from her injury .She is in the best of care with all in @GWSGIANTS and all of us in @CorkLGFA & indeed @LadiesFootball wish her a speedy and indeed full recovery."

Stack signed for GWS in October after the club had chased her signature for a number of years.

She retired from inter-county football at the start of 2019 and moved to Australia last month.
