BHOPAL: A special court on Sunday remanded the deputy director of AIIMS-Bhopal to the custody of CBI’s anti-corruption branch till October 1.
Dhirendra Pratap Singh, deputy director (admin) was arrested for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs one Lakh from the complainant on Saturday.
CBI has registered a case against the said deputy director (Admn), All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhopal on a complaint.
It was alleged in the complaint that he demanded a bribe of Rs 2,00,000 from the complainant for releasing payment of his pending bills on account of supplies of medicines and other consumables made to AIIMS, Bhopal.
CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while demanding & accepting bribe from the complainant.
Searches are being conducted at the premises of the accused including at Bhopal. CBI officials said that they have received many more complaints regarding the institute and they would be looking into all of them.
