'Brian, stop talking s*** for five minutes!' Rival pundits James Haskell and Brian Moore publicly clash

BBC commentator Brian Moore and former flanker James Haskell have traded blows on social media following England's win over Ireland.

Haskell was analysing the game for Channel Four on Saturday, but his comments clearly didn't impress Moore, who took to Twitter to air his thoughts.

“What has happened to Ireland’s set-piece and what is Haskell talking about?,” he wrote.

For 24 hours, that was that.

But Haskell reportedly did eventually reply to Moore - and seemingly gave him both barrels.

“Brian stop talking s*** for 5 mins," he said, in a now deleted Tweet, RugbyPass report.

"You are like a really annoying elderly relative. Some players are f****s and don’t like to defend. They get found out. Eddie now has a team of die hard defenders. Attack is easy, smoking people not so much. Understand now?”

It's not the first time either man has been caught up in controversy.

Moore was recently forced to apologise for appearing to make light of bulimia during a live commentary.

In his subsequent apology, he wrote: "Yesterday I made a bad comment about bulimia - it shouldn't have been made and I apologise".

Among those to respond were Welsh referee Nigel Owens, who himself has battled the condition.

Owens said: "We all say things sometimes without thinking or meaning anything bad about it. Then after we realise it wasn’t the right thing to say, or best word to use. You’re a good man Brian and I know you meant no harm to anyone. Well done on apology. Everyone now move on."

Meanwhile, one of Haskell's early ventures into punditry saw him become the subject of widespread ridicule after a bizarre appearance discussing a game between England v South Africa.

Haskell later revealed that a malfunctioning earpiece had created a feedback loop that had thrown his concentration and caused his words to come out garbled.
