Brian McFadden slams Dancing on Ice rival Gemma Collins as 'a pain in the backside'

Brian McFadden didn’t hold back as he slammed his Dancing on Ice co-star Gemma Collins’ diva antics as “a pain in the a***.”

Appearing on Good Morning Britain earlier today, the former Westlife star joked that the GC, Collins’ larger than life alter ego, could grate on his fellow contestants’ nerves, but emphasised that he “loves” the TOWIE star herself.

When host Susanna Reid asked McFadden if there was “anything [he’d] like to say about [his] rival,” the singer responded: “She’s amazing.”

He then immediately clarified his comment, telling Reid and her co-presenter Piers Morgan: “Well I love Gemma. The GC can be a pain in the a***.

“But Gemma herself is brilliant and I love Gemma.”

Discussing his performance on the show to date, McFadden admitted that he wasn’t a natural skater, telling Reid and Morgan that his aim was “to be more entertaining rather than graceful.”

He went on to joke about former Strictly Come Dancing pro James Jordan’s prowess on the ice, telling the presenters: “I think he’s quite average actually. I mean, he looks great in a pair of tights.”

McFadden previously suggested that he’d “had enough” of the GC’s diva behaviour, telling Loose Women that the persona can be “hard to take.”

“The GC is the character she plays when she’s a diva and that’s probably the one that people give out about,” he explained. “But Gemma is beautiful and I feel so sorry for Gemma now because all the headlines are talking about diva demands and leaving early and stuff.”

Last month, Collins described McFadden as her “rock” on the ITV competition, praising him for “picking [her] up” “everytime [she has] a wobble.”

Collins and McFadden will compete on Dancing on Ice on Sunday at 6pm on ITV.
