Brian McFadden's daughter Lilly says doing Love Island would be 'her worst nightmare'

The daughter of Irish singer Brian McFadden has revealed she was offered a spot on this year’s Love Island — but she turned the opportunity down as she didn’t want to upset her Irish granny.

Lilly McFadden (18), the daughter of Brian and fellow singer Kerry Katona, confessed doing the show would “be her worst nightmare”, but said she has nothing against the popular dating series.

Lilly confessed she was quite keen to explore the showbiz world and credited mum Kerry for making her the young woman she is today.

But when Love Island 2021 came calling, the teen admitted it just wasn’t for her — especially with her beloved nan Mairead being religious.

Speaking to OK! Online, Lilly confirmed she was offered a place in the villa but explained: “It’s not a bit of me. Not in a rude way, it’s a fun show, but if I was going to make a big TV debut it would not be with Love Island.

“Being romantic or getting my body out — it’s not me. It’s no diss to Love Island or the people who go on there but I hate PDAs.

“I had a boyfriend for two years and I would not let him touch me in public.”

She went on: “For most

people, going in the villa, being surrounded by all those hunky men, it’s a dream come true — for me, it’d be my worst nightmare.”

Lilly added that she wanted to avoid upsetting her Irish gran, Brian’s mum Mairead.

She said: “I have a Catholic nan in Ireland! It would kill her if I went on the show.

“As for my dad, he couldn’t say much if I did choose to go down that path — I’m 18 years old so he can’t really have an opinion on what I do, but of course I’d take his thoughts into consideration.

“My mum would be fine with it, she’s made me who I am and I know she’d support me no matter what. My dad’s a bit more stubborn, though!”
