Brian McFadden said he and his fiancee are considering adoption after struggling to conceive for a year.
The former Westlife star, who proposed to his longtime love Danielle Parkinson before Christmas, admitted he is desperate to expand his family.
The dad-of-two, who shares his daughters Molly, 18, and Lilly, 16, with first wife Kerry Katona, added he would love to go for a boy.
However, following a year of trying with no result, the Dubliner said he’d prefer to have eight more kids than to have no more.

Speaking to OK! magazine, he said: “We’ve been trying for a baby for over a year now.
“It’s something we both really want. I’m 40 in April and Danielle will be soon.
“It hasn’t happened yet but it’s a lot of fun trying.”
The 39-year-old added: “I’ll have as many kids as we can possibly have, if it was a choice between eight and none, I’d take eight!”
Opening up about the struggle, Danielle said: “You spend your life trying not to and then when you want it to happen it doesn’t.
“We could be pregnant now, fingers crossed. If I start vomiting anytime soon you’ll know why!
The bride-to-be said that she would love to be pregnant or have a baby by the time they tie the knot saying: “It would be nice to have the baby inthe wedding photos.”
And when asked if she would go down an alternative route if it doesn’t work out naturally, she said: “Absolutely [we would consider IVF].
“We’ve even talked about adoption, we just really want kids.”
The couple revealed they are planning to wed next summer, with a three-day party in the Scottish highlands.

However, when asked whether his girls will be bridesmaids on the big day, Brian poked fun at his ex-wife Katona, who has been married three times, saying they are probably sick of the role.
Brian, who is set to wed for a third time said: “They’ll play some part in it but they’ve been bridesmaids for their mother about five times already [laughs] so they’re probably sick of it.
“They’re probably thinking, ‘Not another f*****g wedding!’
He added: “It’s funny because Lilly wants to study law and when I asked her why, she said, “I want to get into divorce law!” Lilly is a wild one.”
