Brian Laudrup urges Rangers to settle the Alfredo Morelos conundrum as 'crunch talks' loom

Rangers legend Brian Laudrup has called on the club to make a decision on Alfredo Morelos’ future as soon as possible.

The striker was subject of a £16m bid from Lille that was turned down but there's been near constant speculation of another move since.

His agent is currently in Glasgow ahead of what 9 In A Row winner Laudrup describes as "crunch talks".

The Dane, who yesterday announced he has won his ten year fight against cancer, had a similar situation of his own at Rangers when he decided he wished to pursue a new challenge after three glorious years but was prevented from moving to Ajax in a £5m deal by then owner David Murray.

It was a situation that didn't work out for either party and the former chairman later admitted he should have sold the star who eventually signed for Chelsea on a free transfer at the end of his contract.

And Laudrup believes it’s now time for the Ibrox club make a definitive choice on the Colombian’s future.

He said: " Alfredo Morelos ’ agent is in Glasgow this week.

"That situation has been ongoing for weeks, so his arrival must be for some kind of crunch talks.

"Morelos has been on the bench recently because he was not performing in training and not looking like he was interested.

"I said recently that I thought his time at the club was up. It’s one of those situations that can take weeks to be resolved and transfer deadline day is still some time away. But now it’s enough.

"For everyone involved, the best thing is to decide whether Morelos is staying or going and get it sorted as soon as possible."
