Brian Laudrup blasts alleged Rangers Covid rule breakers as he's left baffled by 'stupidity'

Brian Laudrup admits he is baffled by the 'stupidity' of the alleged Rangers Covid-19 rule breakers.

The Rangers legend believes they should have learned from George Edmundson and Jordan Jones' situation earlier this season that has resulted in both being sent out on loan.

Neither have kicked a ball for the club since being fined and suspended and Laudrup expects Steven Gerrard to be fizzing with the latest incident, if it's proven players attended a party.

Rangers released a statement on Sunday night to confirm they are investigating the alleged breach and it's likely they'll come down hard on the players should it be proven.

And Laudrup insists it doesn't matter who is involved, they must be strongly punished with the club closing in on the Premiership title.

He wrote in his Daily Mail column: "I don't think this investigation will provide a distraction from that task.

"Gerrard won't allow that to happen and he has been excellent at keeping the focus on the next game throughout the campaign.

"Obviously, though, there would be real disappointment on his part if it emerged there had, indeed, been breaches.

"That would apply regardless of the age and experience of the players alleged to have attended a house party.

"How could the message not get through after Jones and Edmundson?

"Those two players were suspended by the club, banned by the SFA and now both are playing their football on loan elsewhere.

"The consequences of not following the rules are clear.

"You cannot say that players across the county haven't been warned. We had the Aberdeen Eight and Boli Bolingoli even before the Jones and Edmundson situation.

"Everyone knows exactly what will happen if they get into those situations.

"It's stupidity. You can't make excuses if it is proved there was a breach."
