Expected to leave can be updated to is leaving. Brian Kelly texted the Notre Dame players on Monday night and told them he is leaving South Bend for Baton Rouge and LSU.
Just now Brian Kelly messaged Notre Dame’s roster in Team Works that “I will be leaving Notre Dame.”
The plan is for Kelly to meet with the team tomorrow at 7 a.m.

The news did break in the afternoon but that doesn’t excuse the coach from having his players find out from anyone but himself.
Notre Dame is 11-1 and in the thick of the College Football Playoff hunt. Now, the Fighting Irish players find out their coach is bailing on them and their supposed collective dream of a national championship.
