Brian Harvey taken to hospital after worrying YouTube livestream prompts urgent appeal from Daniella Westbrook

Brian Harvey has been admitted to hospital after police were called to his home over a worrying YouTube livestream.

Police say they were alerted to a 'man threatening to take his own life' - as Brian's ex Daniella Westbrook posted an urgent appeal to find out what was happening.

In the livestream, Brian described his financial troubles and asked for a meeting with Prime Minister Theresa May, the Mirror reports .

It sparked concern for his welfare and police attended the scene at his house in Walthamstow, London.

They have now confirmed he was taken to hospital.

The Metropolitan Police said in a statement: "At approximately 1809hrs on Thursday, March 21 police were alerted to a man threatening to take his own life.

"Officers subsequently attended an address in Walthamstow to complete a welfare check.

"The man arrested has been taken to hospital for a mental health care assessment. There are no reported injuries."

Brian's YouTube livestream has since been taken offline.

It came after Brian's ex-girlfriend  Danniella Westbrook  posted an urgent appeal tonight after hearing about the worrying livestream video.

The former EastEnders star, 45, who used to date the East 17 singer, tweeted: "I’m in rehab just come out of a aa meeting been hospital all day myself I really hope this is a hoax as if it’s not my heart will be broken...

"Brian is a good good man and if this is true I hope he gets the help he needs ., please dm me...

"Please if anyone has any news on Brian Harvey contact me thanks x my prayers heart and thoughts are with him x I pray his ok x."

Danniella is currently enrolled in a residential rehab program to kick her long-running addiction to cocaine.

She dated Brian from 1991 until 1995 at the height of her soap fame.

Brian has been out of the spotlight for some time, and in 2018 he sparked fears among fans by posting an online video in which he claimed he'd not left the house in five years.

The singer, who's previously been open about his battles with depression, said: "I've been a prisoner in my own home now for about five years.

"I've got to be trapped, like a prisoner, in my own home after selling 22million records. I've never done nothing to no one. I just chose not to get involved."

Brian sold more than 18 million records as a member of pop group East 17, but was sacked from the band in 1997 over comments he made that appeared to condone the use of the drug ecstasy.
