Brian Flores will attend Patriots Super Bowl ring ceremony on Thursday

For one more night, Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores will be a New England Patriot. The Super Bowl champion Patriots will be hosting a ring ceremony this Thursday and, according to a report from ESPN’s Mike Reiss, Flores is scheduled to be in attendance to receive one.

So, too, is former Patriots defensive end Trey Flowers. Flowers was a primary target of the Dolphins this offseason in free agency, but the team erred on the side of caution — Flowers commanded a 5-year, $90M contract from the Detroit Lions this offseason.

Getting the gang back together one last time will certainly be bittersweet — but for Flores it should provide an evening to really relish in the successes of 2018. Flores was so quick out the door after the Super Bowl that he never really had a chance to cherish the fruits of his labor.

But now, fully entrenched in the 2019 offseason, Flores should have the opportunity to detach for an evening and enjoy the pinnacle of the sport. And then, first thing Friday morning, it’s back to the Patriots being rivals once more.
