Brian Flores didn’t do much celebrating before officially becoming Dolphins coach

Before officially becoming the Dolphins head coach on Monday, Brian Flores was busy helping his old employer winning another Super Bowl title.

Flores, who was the Patriots linebackers coach and defensive play-caller helped led the team over the Rams 14-3 in Super Bowl 53. Shortly after that, Flores was preparing to head to South Florida to become the Dolphins next head coach.

Before signing his Dolphins contract, Flores said he didn’t do much celebrating after the Patriots’ Super Bowl victory.

“I kissed my wife on the field,” Flores said. “We celebrated a little bit last night, then we hopped on the plane, and we got here, so it hasn’t been much celebration.”

Flores was asked was he cheated out of having a big celebration because of his Dolphins introductory press conference on Monday:

“No,” he said. “This is not getting cheated. I do not feel that way at all. That was a great experience, but I guess I’ve always been this way: I look forward. I’m a guy who looks forward.”
