Brian Fineanganofo: What the Browns are getting in their new OT

We are still looking into the unique undrafted free agents that the Cleveland Browns have been signing and today we are taking a deeper dive into another freaky athletic marvel from a smaller college in Brian Fineanganofo out of Idaho State. The Browns are continuously looking for offensive line prospects with big-time potential. An example of a similar signing was Desmond Harrison out of West Georgia last season and he was a starter for a few games.

ISU has done a fine job of producing NFL prospects, including Jared Allen and longtime starter Evan Dietrich-Smith. Although not many have been starting caliber, there has been a number of guys that have bounced around the league providing depth. Fineanganofo is arguably the best to come out in the school’s history and has a lot of experience seeing time in 34 career collegiate games and starting a majority of those games at left tackle. Idaho State had one of the more explosive offenses last season and Fineanganofo was a big reason for that.

It is not surprising that Fineanganofo went undrafted as he failed to dominate his lower level opponents like many hoped, but many pundits did view him as a day three target and that makes him a steal as an undrafted pick-up. He also falls under a bit of a tweener umbrella as he lacks the ideal size scouts look for in their starting offensive tackle. He is another player that despite his superb athletic traits, has an uphill battle to make the final roster.
