Brian Dowling would consider Big Brother comeback if the 'money talks' after brutal axe

Big Brother superstar Brian Dowling has't ruled out a Big Brother comeback after championing the show in 2001.

Almost ten-years after his incredible £70,000 win, 43-year-old reality TV star went on to win Ultimate Big Brother in 2010.

One year after winning the Channel 4 reality show for the second time, the much-loved Irish star was confirmed as the brand-new host of Big Brother upon its transfer to Channel 5 as he replaced long-time presenter, Davina McCall.

Brian quickly became the face of the show that had made him a household name ten-years previous, but his reign as host didn't last long as Channel 5 bosses quickly decided that they a new host in mind in an unpredictable shakeup.

After presenting two editions of Big Brother and four editions of Celebrity Big Brother, Channel 5 bosses confirmed that Brain's time was up two years after he bagged the role as host - and Emma Willis was his replacement.

Although the podcast star has revealed that he once upon a time had a 'love-hate relationship with the show after his sudden sacking, Brian would never rule out a Big Brother comeback - but only if the price was right now that he knows his worth in the entertainment business.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Mirror about a possible return to the show that catapulted him to international fame, Brian admitted: "I'm going to be honest, I've had a love-hate relationship with Big Brother - it's been highly documented.

"From winning it, to going on to being the ultimate housemate, to hosting it, to being fired, to having all sorts of debates with people on social media. Listen, I'm at that age now where I can say, 'money talks'.

"I'm 44 this year, and I've won it twice, I've hosted it, lets be realistic, if I was asked to go back on, and I got the right deal, of course I would."

Lifting the lid on his feelings towards the show after he his sudden axe from hosting, Brian explained that he has a lot of love for the show after being a contestant on it twice - and winning it twice.

However, when he reminisces about his time as a Big Brother host, his feelings aren't as straightforward.

"I have more love for Big Brother than I do hate," the bubbly Irish star shared.

"I loved each time I was on it as a contestant. It was life-changing both times and I will never, ever, ever, speak badly of the show as a contestant.

"As a host, it was obviously a little different. But I think that's also life. Not everything is going to be a bed of roses."

If he were to make a return to Big Brother, Brian would be setting himself up to make a number of huge sacrifices.

The 44-year-old reality star would have to consider leaving his husband, Arthur Gourounlian, for weeks on end amid their hopeful journey to parenthood.

The pair, who tied he knot in 2015, are hoping that 2022 will finally be the year they become proud parents after years of researching their options with adoption and surrogacy.

Despite the fact that he's now a settled man, with kids on the brain, Brian admits that he would still be 'well able' for another stint on Big Brother.

"Do you know what, I think I would be able for it again," the much-loved star revealed.

"Having done the show twice, and having done the show back in the day when it was a social experiment, and doing it again in 2010 when it was this produced and glossy reality TV show, and then having hosted it for a couple of seasons - I think I absolutely would be able to for it.

"I think fundamentally, I'm the same person as I was then.

"But of course, you mature. And your viewpoint about certain things changes. But I've been very, very, lucky in the past twenty one years to have had the career I've had.

"To still work and to be able to do the things I love is amazing and its been a blessing in my life. I'm still young enough for reality TV. Maybe my cut-off point should be 50. I've got five and a half years left."

Brian is currently part of Bother’s Big Bother Shopping List Challenge; a campaign highlighting supermarket shopping for boring cupboard basics - whether instore or online - is a chore Brits spend far too long doing.
