Brian Dowling slams Big Brother accusing reality show of damaging his mental health

Brian Dowling has accused Big Brother of damaging his mental health and lashed out at Davina McCall in a bitter online row.

The Big Brother legends have been embroiled in a spat after the Co Kildare man said his time on the reality gig was erased in its Best Shows Ever series.

And as former host Davina slammed the snub claims, Brian hit back again in a very lengthy statement to “justify” his feelings of sadness and hurt.

In a public message to Davina, the 42-year-old said: “I’m really sad that you have again posted something today which continues to fan the flames of this on social media and in the press.”

Brian also spoke about how being axed from BB had affected his life, saying: “My career came to a halt because I could not even consider working on television for a good number of years after that and my reputation damaged.

“When I was fired I was hurt, upset and publicly humiliated. My mental health and confidence has suffered terribly for the last seven years because of that and other events that occurred whilst I was the host.”

Addressing the controversy, Davina told fans: “Just an FYI. We did ask @brianofficial to be part of the show. He was ultimate housemate!!!! That was a no-brainer.”
