TV star Brian Dowling was reunited with his husband Arthur Gourounlian yesterday after being apart since January 15 due to coronavirus.
Arthur went back to LA for work and Brian stayed on in Dublin due to his commitment on Dancing With The Stars.
The couple were meant to reunite in March but with flight cancellations it didn’t happen.
Upon arrival, Arthur self isolated with Donal Skehan and his family in Howth, north Dublin.
Kildare man Brian quipped: “He’s probably raging he’s back living with me now because he was with Donal and his family near the beach in Howth living it up with Donal cooking for him.”
The couple, who were based in LA, felt they wanted to start the rest of their lives here in Ireland as opposed to leaving it for a year and a half.
Speaking on the Ray D’Arcy’s show on RTE Radio One today, Brian said: “Life is so short and we want to be around our family and friends.”
Brian, 41, who’s learning how to drive, said: “At the moment I’m learning the theory and I think I could ace it, I’ve not done any driving yet but now I might get Arthur to teach me.
“But the last time I was in a car with Arthur I crashed into a pier.”
The former Big Brother presenter launched his grieving podcast series, Death Becomes her last month, and has had two presenting jobs postponed.
Shooting the reunion show for the Real Housewives of Cheshire will be a challenge in the new normal.
He explained: “Doing the show via Zoom and Skype is going to be difficult but people still need to watch telly and it’s a blessing for me that I’m still working, but who knows how long this is going to continue.”
