Brian Clough's grandson has lovely message for Nottingham Forest supporters

The grandson of Brian Clough, Stephen, had a lovely message for Nottingham Forest supporters after they took to social media to remember the Reds' legendary manager.

Clough famously led Forest to their greatest ever triumphs.

The Reds were in the Second Division when he took charge, but just five years later they would be back-to-back European Cup winners.

During his long reign at the City Ground, Clough won 12 trophies and changed the entire football club.

Thursday would have been his 84th birthday, and Forest supporters took to Twitter to share their memories of the man and to thank him for the lasting impression he has left on the club and the city.

On what was an emotional day, Clough's grandson said: “Reading all the kind words after 15 years is brilliant for the family.

"So thanks to the club and the Forest supporters for keeping my grandad's memory alive. He'd have loved it. You reds!"
