Brian Burns on potent Panthers pass rush: ‘Y’all ain’t seen nothin yet’

The Panthers defensive line dominated in the trenches for the second straight game without the benefit of having their best player in the lineup.

Even though defensive tackle Kawann Short was ruled out again with a shoulder injury, Carolina racked up six sacks on Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson today, bringing their season total to 18.

First-round pick Brian Burns told reporters after the game that we haven’t seen nothing yet.

Another reason to feel bullish about this group: the arrival of Bruce Irvin. He missed the first three weeks of the season with a hamstring injury, but his debut in a Panthers uniform was an impressive one. Irvin finished with one sack and two quarterback hits.

Carolina is also getting solid play on the back end of its defense, which is always a lethal combination.
