Brian Baldinger calls Frank Ragnow a ‘star in the making’

NFL Network’s Brian Baldinger, a former NFL offensive lineman turned analyst, calls Detroit Lions Frank Ragnow a “star in the making.”

Baldinger spent a decade in the NFL, playing for the Dallas Cowboys, Indianapolis Colts and Philadephia Eagles, but most will know him from his broadcasting career at FOX where he was a color analyst over the past two decades. He currently works at NFL Network but still calls preseason games.

NFL Network and Baldinger have a segment called Baldy Breakdowns, where Baldinger examines different players around the league. In this particular video, he mentions that when he began watching game film on Kerryon Johnson, Ragnow continued to stand out to him, opening holes and relocating defenders.

The breakdown features plays from last season where Ragnow, last year’s first-round pick, found success against the New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins, Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears and the Carolina Panthers.

“We talk about offensive linemen who had a good season last year,” Baldinger said, “I don’t think we talk enough about Frank Ragnow. And what Kerryon Johnson did, that draft, pretty good for Detroit, could be a foundation going forward.”
