Brexit: Sunderland locals unfazed despite uncertainty over Nissan plant

In the north-eastern British city of Sunderland, locals voted overwhelmingly to leave the EU back in 2016. Sunderland is home to the UK's Nissan car manufacturing plant, which has provided thousands of jobs since 1986. The Japanese company has now announced that due to economic uncertainty surrounding Brexit, its new X-Trail model will no longer be produced in Sunderland as planned, but in Japan. Yet local "Leave" voters are unfazed, confident that a better future lies ahead. Our team reports.
